The Alligator's Mouth was opened by passionate booksellers Margaret Wallace-Jones and Tony West in 2015. After working together at a previous children's bookshop, The Lion & Unicorn in Richmond, Margaret and Tony were keen to maintain a space for children's literature in the community. With expertise and lots of determination, they set out to create an exciting and imaginative space for children to discover all kinds of books, from beautiful classics to new favourites. Over the years, the team has grown to what it is today, and we are lucky to share expertise and enthusiasm amongst wonderful colleagues. With a variety of skills and interests - and equal love for books - our team creates a welcoming space for every child to find a book they love.
